Easton is a town located in Bristol County Massachusetts with a population of 23,112. Taunton is located about 35 miles south of Boston and about 20 miles east of Providence. Easton was settled in 1694 and then was incorporated in 1725. Before the settlers' establishment, the town was occupied by Native Americnan as a burial ground and hunting area.
Easton also hold historical value with being the headquarters for King Philip during the King Philip's War. Easton is also home to the Ames Shovel Works which was established in 1803 and became nationall known for providing shovels used to build the Union Pacific Railrod that openned the west of America. The Ames family shaped the town's economy and has contributed to multiple landmarks throughout the town like the Ames Free Library, Oakes Ames Memorial Hall, and the Ames Gate Lodge.
Easton has a great public education system with three elementary school, a middle and the Oliver Ames High School. Easton is also home to Stonehill College, a private, non-profits, coeducational, Roman Catholic Liberal Arts College.
